The Growth in People Powered 24 News and Breaking News Internet Websites

There have been similar websites / concepts but these were based on earlier technologies, typically the mobile phone using MMS, they could never provide the comprehensive service now offered by the newer technology Internet news sites.

Mobile Phone Technology

Whilst mobile phones were successful for sending news and pictures, for example the Tsunami in Thailand, the mobile phone network often cannot cope with the volume of traffic during such an event. Networks were overwhelmed with people trying to phone friends or relatives to see if they were safe.

Within a very time of the London Bombings, mobile phone networks were unable to cope and the situation was made worse by people continually pressing re-dial.

Phone networks expect a certain volume of traffic based on the number of people who have subscribed to that network; the internet works on a different principle and so does not cease to function efficiently during a time of increased communication.

Breaking News

The speed at which breaking news hits the internet cannot be bettered as it only takes few a minutes for a user / reporter to send news in 3 easy steps:-

1. Click to write & report news

2. Add videos, photos & tags

3. Login or register to submit

Coverage of a UK based Internet News Website is typically:-

  • London and the Southwest
  • N Ireland
  • North
  • North East
  • North West
  • Scotland
  • Wales
  • South West
  • Midlands
  • European and World Coverage.

There may also be other tabs for Travel news, entertainment, sport, business, politics, technology. New websites using Content Management Systems like Drupal (used by the White House) can easily cope with vast amounts of information.

News from any country in the world can be put on the website as easily and quickly as regional news, and the user can read the news they are interested in at the click of a button.

This contrasts to 24 hour news on the Television, where the viewer has to see news that may not be relevant to them while they wait for the news item that they are interested in. If they tune in to the same 24 hour news channel 30 minutes later, they may notice that some of the news is on a sort of loop, and they have to watch the same story again, even though they were disinterested in it the first time around.

24 hours news, the Ipad and mobile Internet Devices

The internet is now the best medium for breaking 24 hour news because of the increasingly widespread use of mobile internet devices. Examples are the Ipad, tablet pc’s, notebooks and the latest generation of mobile phone with fast and efficient internet access.

Today’s young professional increasingly use internet news sites at home and work. They can quickly zoom in on items of news, business or travel and then move on to the next item in their busy schedule.

Conclusion

When large numbers of consumers bought and used mobile phones either in addition to their fixed lines or as an alternative to having a fixed phone line, it affected the way we communicate. It is expected that as large numbers of consumers buy and use mobile internet devices in addition to, or as an alternative to their ‘fixed line’ (broadband or network at work / University), there will be increased use of highly successful people powered 24 hour breaking news internet sites.

The Importance of Reading Transport News

There are many people involved in the transport industry, and there are many ways that you can become involved. There are plenty of transport jobs, from frozen foods, to medical equipment, and even electronics. Whichever part of the industry you are in, you are still a huge part of it, and with that being the case, it is important for you to read transport news. What can transport news tell you? How can you benefit from it?

Travel Regulations — There are laws supporting everything — even the transport industry. While you might not pay attention to the local or federal government, a good transport publication will, and this will keep you up to date. Remember, the last thing you want is to be stopped on the way to your destination because you have broken some sort of law.

Vehicles — If you are in charge of your own vehicle, it would be nice to have updated information on the various vehicle upgrades and even replacements. If you can save on gas mileage or perhaps add more storage space, you would certainly want to know about it.

Routes — In the transport industry, you are not exactly taking a family vacation. There are specific routes that most people like to take, and as a result, the trip becomes pretty routine. A transport publication will discuss those routes and even talk about new ones.

Destinations — The ultimate destination is your pickup or delivery, but along the way you will undoubtedly need to visit diners, hotels, and even rest areas. A good travel publication will certainly be able to help you with that, and keep you current on the available accommodations.

Unlike any other magazines you might subscribe to, it is important to ensure that your travel magazines are actually accurate. if they are no, you face a rather serious problem. For example, inaccurate information could have an effect on the quality of your trip. Before you rely on any sort of travel publication, you should check its authenticity, and verify that others have had a decent experience. This might seem like a lot of work, but you can trust us when we say it is absolutely worth it.

Another very important aspect of any travel publication is their ability to prioritize information. For example, posting information about a great eating establishment ahead of information about a road closure might be a lack of priority. This could lead to problems, especially if you fail to turn that ‘one page’ during your first skimming of the magazine.

What formats is the travel publication in? Can you buy it in print? Does it come as a digital publication? Both? The format is up to you, but make sure you choose one that actually suits your needs.

Choosing a good travel publication is a must if you plan to have an effective trip. It is an added yearly expense, of course, but a good publication can tell you things that the internet never will. You will be dealing with individuals that spend their time on the road, and have dedicated their time to ensuring all available facts are known. You really cannot do much better than that, can you?

Check out the different available publications and try to create a flow of information. When you are on the road, nothing can be more important. Remember, information is power!

Travel Directory Explained!

The Travel Directories are a wonderful tool for travel planning and can often save a lot of time, energy and money if you use them right. For a layman it is just another yellow page directory with the travel related services database with contacts and classified information, but the scope of the Travel Directory has grown phenomenally in the last few years.

The popularity of Travel Directories is mostly due the great variety and wide range of services that they can enlist for you within the easy reach. While the Search Engine results might be seen as the path for a simple traveler, the more aware customers can find the money’s worth quite easily.

There are some things you can look for finding even the best travel directory too for example. The human edited directory can contain more details and even selection process might be more accurate too as the errors are spotted and removed quite easily.

It should contain a wide range of articles too to give the customers full idea of what to expect. There should be some video clips also to enhance the searching process to find the right one easily. The indexing of Travel Directory should be easy to understand and comprehend.

If it contains a running set of blogs on travels along side the news section to give information on news and events in different regions, the whole experience of being online will be much more meaningful.

Often host multiple sections relating to so many things and in details, this can make the whole planning quite easy. The organizations enlisted in directories are often found to be more vigilant as there are reviews not only from the customers but also the directories too.

The directories are simple to use and quite user-friendly and much easier than actual visit to the offices. You can find anything in here including, Adventure Travel, Safari, Backpacking, Ski trips, Business Travel info, the travel tips and advise, and Insurance and similar services.

The directory users are often much more relaxed as they don’t need to take hours and hours to find the great deals. The prices are almost standardized and the discounts can be found here easily too. The aim of these Directories is often to improve the shopping experience of customer, and providing better quality services in wide range.

Cosmos Vs Globus

Visiting Europe is more affordable than you might think. The Globus family of brands has two options to choose from. Cosmos offers a great vacation value for those on a budget, while Globus offers premium escorted travel.

In order to understand the difference more clearly, I am going to use an example I came across earlier this week where a client was planning a trip to Spain, but was undecided between the Cosmos “Grand tour of Spain,” and the Globus “Spanish Fiesta.” Specifically, the client wanted to know why she should pay $500 more for the Globus trip, when the Cosmos goes to the same places and is one day longer?

This is one of the best questions you can ask your travel agent! The tourist industry is a very competitive field and if one company is offering the same itinerary at a decidedly different price, there’s got to be a reason. As we sat and discussed the two itineraries, here is what the client learned.

She would land in Madrid on either tour; both would have meet and greet, (if airfare had been purchased through the tour operator), and each would have a hotel room reserved in her name. Now where the difference begin, is that the Globus tour director would host a welcome dinner that evening and she would meet the other travelers. The Cosmos tour director would only be in the hotel lobby to say hello. Dinner will be on her own, and perhaps she would meet up with other travelers and join them.

After a buffet breakfast (included each morning in either tour) the Globus group will have in depth sightseeing in Madrid, seeing all the major sights, with entrance to the world famous Prado Museum included and paid for. The afternoon will offer free time. The Cosmos group leaves Madrid, and is driven to Valencia (via Aranjuez and Cuenca), a distance of about 222 miles, with a stop at the Royal Palace along the way. The driving time is about 4 hours, but there will be photo stops as well as a stop for lunch, although not included. The Cosmos tour would then stay in Valencia two nights, which no included sightseeing.

On day two, the Globus tour will head north to Vitoria, stopping at Segovia and Burgos…with photo, rest and lunch stops, of course. Lunch is not included with the Globus on this day either. The distance is about 175 miles, or about 3 hours.

I won’t continue the day-by-day comparison, as the article would be quite lengthy, but be assured that these differences continue throughout. Example: Globus has in-depth sightseeing in Granada, Cosmos offers it as an optional. The Globus tour takes you to Gibraltar, with entrance fee included; Cosmos does not go to Gibraltar. Globus stops for guided, fee paid sightseeing in Toledo; Cosmos does not stop at Toledo. The Cosmos visit in Madrid is at the end of your tour, no inside visits are included.

There are also more subtle differences that a Globus tour includes over Cosmos, such as extra nights in major cities to allow for more free time, a few extra meals throughout the trip, perhaps with wine included or entertainment. With Globus you often each at local restaurants, where we Cosmos you frequent the hotel’s restaurant.

To sum it all up, if your goal is to travel comfortably, with clean hotels, some meals, a tour guide as your shepherd and information source and at a price you can afford, go “budget,” which is with Cosmos tours. Just remember, there will be many “optional” tours and meals, so do the math. If you want to see as much as possible, gain access to outstanding museums and sights, stay in centrally located hotels and avoid many of the optionals, so more is included in your up-front price, you will find that Globus tours is the better way to go.

Keep in mind they are both owned by the same company, who have offered escorted tours for over 80 years, so you will not be disappointed either way, as long as you are clear on what’s included in the price.

Technology Leading Us to Inhumanity?

Many of you may get astonished looking at the headline of this article. You may think that this writer has gone crazy or something. Technology which has made our life better than we ever thought of and now this writer is saying that technology is making us inhuman. I will say, yes it is.

A few days ago I saw a report on TV. The reporter was reporting about the sufferings of some poor people who could not even eat two meals a day. But the reporter did not help them on spot. Just make a report to telecast. That means sufferings of people are being used as products to get famous or to earn livelihood. Another incident was, a few days ago in a convocation ceremony of a University one of the guests got fainted on the spot. There were about 300 students but none of them rushed to help the guest. Rather they took picture of him and send the news to their friends and relatives, twitted on twitter and shared on Facebook and other social networking sites. They did not even think of helping the person rather they just took the opportunity to make it breaking news.

Now we have the technology to broadcast anything live from the spot. Anyone can be a reporter using his/her mobile cameras while they are moving in the streets and some accidents happen. We can’t control what should be broadcasted and what should not be. But we should think before we do anything.

I remember a classic movie named “Roman Holiday” in which a princess came to Italy to travel. But as she was a princess she could not move around freely. So his parents used to control her and gave her sleeping pills at night. One night she came out without her parents’ permission to travel but felt asleep on the streets as an effect of the sleeping pills. A journalist found her and took her to his house. Next day a report came on a missing girl. But it was not mentioned that she was a princess. Seeing the report the journalist understood that she is the one whom he took home last night. He could have spread the news in public that he had found the princess and gain money and popularity. But he did not do so to save the honor of the princess and her family.

In schools and colleges students are having sexual intimacy and making video of them and spreading them in the internet. Some people are blackmailing their girlfriends and their family. Our culture and social values are being destroyed.

We can’t stay without technology but we should make ourselves mature enough to adopt with the advancement of technology. We should film ten videos with cultural and educative values if we film one pornograph.

Absinthe, the Notorious Liquor

It would be difficult to imagine a more notorious liquor than absinthe. Even though just about everybody has heard of absinthe, a much smaller number know much about it, and even fewer people have given it a try. The purpose of this article, therefore, is to reveal what absinthe really is, along with some of its history as well as its status today.

It is generally agreed that absinthe was first created as a medicinal tonic in the late 1700s in the village of Couvet, Switzerland, but there is a difference of opinion regarding exactly who the creator actually was. The anise-flavored tonic was claimed to have been invented by a French doctor named Pierre Ordinaire, but locals in Couvet said that, long before the appearance of Dr. Ordinaire, the Henriod sisters were doling out absinthe for medicinal purposes.

Regardless of who the originator of the recipe was, it is a fact that the Dubied-Pernod family purchased the recipe from Dr. Ordinaire and set up the first commercial distillery of absinthe in Couvet.

As time went by, and the popularity of absinthe increased, the beverage became acclaimed not only for its health-oriented benefits, but also for its effect on the mind, conjuring up the legend of the Green Fairy with her visions, dreams and artistic inspiration.

Several factors led to boost the fame of absinthe even further. French soldiers were given the beverage as a tonic that indeed boosted both their health and their morale. Then, in the third quarter of the 19th century, France’s vineyards were nearly destroyed by a plant disease. As the price of wine skyrocketed, the absinthe recipe was changed to make it even more economical an alternative.

During the years leading up to World War I, some of the most famous artists and writers of the era were not only drinking absinthe, they were immortalizing it. For example, it is known that Mary Shelley wrote most of “Frankenstein” while under the inspirational influence of absinthe.

And it was not only Europe where the Green Fairy was celebrated, she was imported to the USA where, especially in New Orleans, the absinthe drinking ritual became one of the rituals of high society. But, in the words of the old proverb, everything that goes up must eventually come down. Several powerful forces were at work against absinthe, and it was made illegal in the United States and several other European countries in 1912, and in France in 1915. However, it has remained legal in Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, the Czech Republic and Portugal. Today in the USA, drinking and possessing absinthe is allowed, but making it and selling it are against the law. Therefore, Americans wishing to enjoy the Green Fairy may legally buy absinthe from, for example, legitimate online sources.

How to See Beijing on a Shoestring

Beijing is one of the world’s absolute must-see travel destinations. It’s big, it’s exciting and it’s dynamic, but it really doesn’t have to be expensive. Tourist services are excellent, and you can see this fantastic city on your own terms, without bruising the budget. You can just pick up your ticket and online travel insurance, and go.

Beijing for a price you can trust

The really good news for travelers is that China is a very efficient travel destination. Everything is usually very well organized, and you can do all your costing upfront. You can literally cost a Beijing tourist package to the cent.

The other great advantage is that in Beijing, you’re well within tour range of most of northern China’s many great tourist destinations. It’s an excellent place to base yourself to see the country.

You’ve got the Great Wall practically next door, and the ancient capital Xian, another major tourist spot, in the neighboring province of Shaanxi. This is the home of the Terra Cotta Warriors, and you can see the whole saga of China’s glorious past from the comfort of a bullet train.

Travel on a budget that works

There’s no guesswork involved in your basic travel and accommodation prices. China is one of the most popular places on Earth for tourism. This is a huge country, and it’s got 4000 years of an incredible past and an equally incredible future to see.

The real risk to your budget is the need to buy everything in sight. Beijing can sell you a few container loads worth of beautiful souvenirs. It takes a while to get used to shopping in places like Beijing, because everything looks good, and you need to know where to find the things you want.

China in one place- What Beijing has to offer

Beijing itself as a place to visit is a real epic. This is one of the world’s great cities, and it can prove it. If you want to see a snapshot of modern China, this is where you’ll find it. The city has some really fascinating places to see:

The Summer Palace: The home of Kublai Khan in the hot northern summers, on a beautiful lake. This is the classic Chinese setting. If you’ve never seen the principles of Chinese gardens, architecture and landscaping, you’re in for an education.

The Forbidden City: The Imperial residence was designed to awe, and it still does. The artwork alone is astonishing, one of the few examples of this highly ornate and symbolic decorative style surviving intact. This is where the Manchu Qing Dynasty rose and fell, and where modern China looks back on hundreds of years of turmoil.

Getting around and seeing the sights

This is a place where you can roam happily for days and watch an emerging super power at work and play. It’s history in the making, and you’re right in the middle of it. China is a place nobody ever forgets. Getting full coverage travel insurance for Beijing tours is easy. All you need to do is get there.

3 Tips for Flying With Your Pet on an Airplane

For many folks, going on trips without their pet is simply out of the question. A vacation away from Woofy, Mr. Pickles or Noodle is simply not a vacation. Rather, for many people, this could feel like a separation from companions you love, which is simply excruciating.

The good news is that for these people, modern travel via air has expanded to make inclusions of four-legged passengers. Pet travel is something that most airlines now offer, either in the cargo hold of the plane or in the cabin. Depending on what airline you select the costs of travel with your pet can vary. There are requirements and restrictions you will simply need to consider. Before your flight, make sure you find out all the information you will need. Here are a few tips you might want to consider when flying with your furry four-legged pal.

Pay the Vet a Visit

Around the globe, almost every airline will be needing veterinarian documentation that states your pet is fit enough to travel. Some hotels and resorts also require this type of document before letting your pet stay. This is not really a bad idea considering no one really wants a cat with feline distemper or a dog with rabies on their vacay. Since you are already at the vet, you might also want to get treatment for heartworm and flea shots if you haven’t already.

Go to a Pet-Friendly Destination

If you don’t make sure the resort or hotel you are staying in is pet-friendly your pet may not be welcome. Don’t assume that every destination offering lodging welcomes pets. Rather, find ones that do as you make your travel plans. This way, you won’t encounter an unpleasant surprise upon arrival.

Food and Water Before Flying

Check-in delays are not uncommon these days. For this reason, you might want to arrive not less than 2 hours before flying. While a lot of time is spent waiting around in the airport, it is a good idea to prepare your pet for flying. Some mandates require that pets flying on a plane with you need to be watered and fed within 4 hours of departing. When you check in for your flight, you will be asked to sign a waiver to certify that your pet has eaten and drank water. On the other hand, don’t overdo this. A pet with a belly that is too full might be prone to travel sickness, so moderation is important.

Looking For Dirt Cheap Travel Deals? Here Are Some Hints For Cheap Travel

If you are looking for dirt cheap travel deals and you are inclined to be very flexible with your travel details, it’s very possible you could find some excellent vacation deals and save quite a lot of money.

The first part of your vacation that could end up costing you lots of money is your airfare. So to begin with, be sure to book your airline tickets in advance. If you try to buy your tickets just before your trip you will end up paying a lot more and this will certainly not be helpful in your search for cheap travel deals. Other ways to save money on airfare are to travel with the small carriers such as JetBlue and Southwest, and also consider breaking up your round-trip flight into two one-way flights. In the past, doing this would have resulted in a higher price but now you can actually save money by employing this practice. So saving money on airfare is your first step.

Your next thing to consider when trying to save money on your travel is the location and of your vacation destination. If you plan to go to a very popular area full of tourists you are probably going to pay more money. So when trying to save dollars it’s best to avoid these areas. The good news is there are many out-of-the-way places that are not so overrun with tourists but yet are still loads of fun, and you can save a lot of money by visiting these areas. It will also be less crowded, and that is always a plus, and you will have plenty of new areas to explore.

Another thing you need to consider when looking for dirt cheap travel deals, is the time of year that you will be traveling. You’re not going to find very many great deals during such times as spring break and around the major holidays. Summer is also a very popular time for travel since the kids are out of school, so you may want to avoid this time as well if possible. You can usually find some very good deals during the off season.

Nissan To Build Diesel Auto For U.S. Market

The Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced its plan to build the first diesel-powered vehicle in North America in the next few years. The decision is anchored on the growing competition and the move of automakers towards fuel efficiency.

Carlos Ghosn, the chief executive of the Nissan of Japan and the Renault of France, intimated the details about the company’s diesel strategy in a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington. Ghosn is amenable that the auto industry may have been shortsighted in fighting increased fuel-economy standards.

Like other automotive executives, Ghosn is striving to satisfy the increasing consumer appetite for fuel-efficient cars. Additionally, the fuel efficiency demands in Washington have to be solved immediately before global warming and oil-dependence issues cripple the industry.

In a meeting with editors and reporters in the industry, Ghosn said that the auto industry brought some problems on itself by fighting fuel-economy regulations over the years. “The car industry… because it has been a little bit shortsighted, saying all the time” that a change in fuel-efficiency standards “is not possible, this is too expensive, this is not going to happen, put itself in a situation where everybody is focusing on the car industry,” Ghosn said. “The carbon dioxide emitted by a car looks more damaging than the carbon dioxide emitted by everybody else.”

Ghosn said any push for tougher fuel-economy rules – known as the corporate average fuel economy, or CAFE – should be accompanied by tougher limits on other carbon-dioxide-emitting industries. “If you take up CAFE for the car industry, just make sure that the other industries also have something similar,” Ghosn said. For the new diesel-powered vehicle, the automaker is likely to use the expertise of Renault which is its alliance partner.

In 2005, sixty three percent of the Japanese automaker’s product lines in Western Europe were equipped with diesel engines. With the shift to greener and cleaner engines, other automakers are now planning more diesels in their lineup. DaimlerChrysler, Honda, and Volkswagen are just some of the automakers working with that goal in mind.

As the auto industry continues to produce more-efficient vehicles, Ghosn urged lawmakers and regulators to make rules that simply do not favor one technology over another. “At the end of the day, it’s about carbon dioxide emissions,” Ghosn said. “Let’s talk about performance, let’s not talk about technology. The competition will be on technology.”

Ghosn became famous largely for rescuing Nissan, which was near bankruptcy in 1999. His plan was built largely on catering to Americans’ desire for speed and horsepower during the craze for trucks and sport-utility vehicles in the 1990s.

Ghosn has ridiculed hybrids in the past, saying that their high prices did not make good business sense. Ghosn said that he was not convinced that hybrids were the answer to U.S. fuel-efficiency needs. But now, he is singing a new tune. “There are a lot of technologies on the table and we are working on a lot of them,” he said.

This year, Nissan is introducing its first hybrid which is a version of the Altima sedan. It will not fascinate enthusiasts just because of Nissan tail light, but would catch attention because of its green technology mated to superb performance and appearance. The hybrid technology is licensed from the Toyota Motor Corporation.
